Grand Opening Special!

That's right, we are having a Grand Opening Special!

I figured that we needed to celebrate RLK Photography being officially up and running and open for business.
And what better way to celebrate than with a sale? :)

Here's how it works:
You call sometime between now and June 30 to schedule a session and you will receive not one but TWO wonderful promotions:
One free 8x10 print of your choice
A discount of $10 off your session fee, bringing the prices down to only $20 for a half  hour session and $40 for an hour session.

The details:
Your session doesn't have to take place in June in order to qualify for the promotions. You just have to call by June 30 to schedule.
Collage prints do not qualify for your free 8x10 print. Neither do art prints. Only a print of a portrait from your session qualifies.
Sessions will be at an outdoor location and feature any props and outfit changes you desire.

So what are you waiting for? Call me, Rebecca Kletzing, at (724) 887-3155 today to take advantage of this great sale! Do you have questions? Feel free to call about those too, or email me at rkletzing@yahoo.com.

Don't forget to tell your friends and family about our Grand Opening Special!

I'm a graduate!

And now I get to write the post that I have been waiting two years to write.

On Thursday, May 3, 2012, I graduated from Westmoreland County Community College with a degree in photography.

Yep, that's right. I'm an official photographer now. :)

I was so blessed to graduate with three of my best friends.

So now it's goodbye WCCC and hello future. Which means, yes, RLK Photography is now officially open for business. Check back soon as I will be updating my prices and hours, as well as posting lots of pictures. :)

I want to say a big thank you to my friend Leigh-Ann, a nursing major at WCCC who also happens to be really good with a camera and agreed to be my photographer for the night.

Spring

All the lovely spring flowers are in bloom, their beauty adding color to the world.

The birds have all returned from their winter homes, and their songs make the world come alive.

The temperatures are warming, the wind doesn't make you shudder anymore, and the sun seems brighter every day.

And in three days, we will celebrate the greatest miracle of spring: the Resurrection!

A happy and blessed Easter to you all.

Introducing "The Photograph as Art!"

Introducing The Photograph as Art! This is a collection of beautiful, ready-to-frame photographic prints. They are affordably priced, available in several sizes that will fit standard frames, and make a great addition to the decor of any room.

For years it has been my dream to be able to photograph scenes and sell them as art that people can display in their homes. And now at last that dream is coming true! I am thrilled to have the opportunity to share my work with all of you and make it available for you to purchase. I don't take pictures so that I can look at them once and then file them away on my computer. I take them so that I can share them with you and spread a little beauty into your lives. That is the inspiration behind this collection.

Below are some examples of the photos available to purchase. To see more or to buy one to add to your decor, visit http://rlk-photography.fotki.com/the-photograph-as-art/, or just click the "Buy Pictures Here" tab above and then click "The Photograph as Art" album. The size of the print is included in the name of each picture. Don't see the size you want? Just send me an email at rkletzing@yahoo.com and I will make that size available! Don't see any you like? Check back often as I will frequently be adding more photos. Also, feel free to email me with any other questions or comments.

Views of Scottdale and Everson

When it comes to taking pictures, it seems like the things that are closest to home are the things that get neglected.
At least it's that way for me.

Well, today my camera and I took a 45-minute walk around my home towns (yes, there are two) so that I could capture a few scenes. I live in Everson, an itty bitty town. And just a couple of streets over is the town of Scottdale. So you really can't photograph one without the other. They all make up the area I call home.

One of the beautiful historic mansions in Scottdale.

I love the old slate sidewalks.

Awesome tree and the view down the sidewalk.

The old Scottdale high school. This is my favorite picture from the day.

View of Jacob's Creek and the railroad tracks from the bridge between Scottdale and Everson.

Train cars parked on the "upper track" in Everson with the feed mill visible behind.

Another view of train cars in Everson.

What do you treasure most?

What do you treasure most? Ask a hundred people that question and you probably won't get the same answer twice.

I recently received an invitation to a friend's party. She asked each guest to bring along something they treasure. So that got me thinking, What do I treasure most? The more I thought about it, the more I came to realize that what I treasure most isn't something I can put in my purse and take to a party. No, it's far more special than that. Let me tell you about it.

First and foremost, I treasure Jesus and my relationship with Him. He is the air in my lungs, the strength to face each day, and the joy that keeps me going. If it wasn't for Him and His love, I wouldn't be who I am.

I treasure my family, a special and unique collection of people.

They are always there, always loving, even if we don't agree on everything. We have been together through the good times and the bad times. Their support and care has kept me going.

I couldn't ask for a dearer group of people to call my family.

And I treasure my friends.

They keep me strong, offer support, and make me laugh. They listen when I need to talk (or rant) and they tell me what I need to hear, even when I don't want to hear it.

We have been together through thick and thin, caring and sharing. We walk together on this road called Life.

Without these special people in my life, I would be lost.

So these are my treasures. Because when it all comes down to it, possessions are nice, but they are replaceable. But there is no way to replace the people in our lives. Love them, treasure them, make the most of every single second with them. I know I sure will. Because they are the blessings I don't deserve; they are what makes life worth living.

What do you treasure most?

New post!
